Greetings Readers,
As yesterday was Earth Day, I wanted to share a short Daily Affirmation and Quote of the Day to follow up on the photo essay I shared here yesterday on Words and Pictures, by Pamela Leavey.
Nature is a driving force in my work here and respecting and protecting our planet, our mother, Mother Earth, is vital work we should all take part in. With that, here is today’s Daily Affirmation:
Today and every day, I affirm that the lure of nature is a strong force of inspiration for me.
I am awed by the wonders that I see every day, whether in my yard or driving in my car, or hiking a well loved path.
I re-mind myself everyday to take time to reflect on the wonders of Mother Earth and rest my soul in her abundance and glories.
And so it is… Intent Makes Manifest.
I thank the Great Mother Goddess every day for this Earth and the profound connection that I feel to this Earth and the Mother.
Namaste… Pamela
Today's Bonus Quote of the Day is a favorite of mine from the prolific fiction and non-fiction author, Wendell Berry.
His nature writing speaks of my own thoughts and senses on the topic of nature and wild things:
The Earth sustains us. Please treat her with care.
The two photos of the great blue heron are from 2012, when I was shooting with a point and click zoom camera. We see far more great white egrets around here than herons, they are beautiful and graceful waders. I adore them. I’m always happy when I get some good photos of them. At some point I will be sharing more photos of the great blue heron.
I hope you all enjoyed the photos! Stay tuned for new posts…

The blue heron is beautiful, regal!
Pamela Leavey: Yesterday the woodcock and her chick -- which also graces today's page, and today the blue heron.
Your words, the words of Wendell Berry, your sharing of gifts of wondrous photographic art, we too call out Mother Goddess in her radiance as she gives us joy.
