Daily Affirmations: Life's Path Is Constantly Changing
With Photos of the Day and a Personal Story
It’s a New Year — Welcome Dear Readers to 2025! I’m so glad you are all here!
I like to start off a new year by acknowledging that our paths in life are always changing. Nothing ever stays the same. This is something I often write about here on Words and Pictures.
I learned a long time ago, that we can either fight change, or we can take change as it comes, going with the flow, being in the moment, accepting this is what it is, and we can make the best of what comes our way.
I’m not sure what 2025 has in store for me, however, I am not setting goals. I stopped that practice a long time ago and l learned to take life day by day. So this year, like every year, I am taking 2025 day by day and I am doing my best to let it develop without expectations. Here’s why…
Expectations can sometimes bring disappointment.
I think this is something we have all learned on occasion. Expectations, hopes and dreams can be dashed in a moment. I try to accept that what ever did not happen, was not meant to happen.
So here I am, looking at the beginning of 2025, and I’m thinking, bring it, as it is, because I cannot change things that are meant to be, change happens whether we want it or not.
Yes, there is free will and there are things that we can choose to change and we make change manifest. That is a whole different post about change — it’s a post about changing what we can change.
However, today, on this first day of 2025, I’m talking about accepting the changes in our life path that happen on their own, because some there are some changes that we can not fight.
Acceptance is key tenet in life. Acceptance is about being open, it’s about being receptive rather than resistant.
Today’s Daily Affirmation, the first Daily Affirmation of 2025, is about taking the path of least resistance:
Today, I re-mind myself that life's path is constantly changing and new opportunities are continuously appearing on the horizon.
While choosing the path of least resistance might seem to be the best way to go, it certainly does not bring challenges with it, in most cases, and so there is less opportunity to learn and grow.
One of the greatest aspects of life is the constant opportunities that come our way teaching us to see things in a new light and appreciate things from a different perspective.
I am grateful for the new paths that appear on my life's journey.
I welcome the opportunity to learn, today and everyday.
I start this day with gratitude for all there is and set my intent on embracing change.
And so it is... Intent makes manifest.
Namaste... Pamela
I want to tell you all about one of those times when my path changed out of the blue…
In January 2012, I fell in my driveway and I twisted my ankle about 10 days into the New Year. I ended up with a rare ankle sprain called a Lisfranc Sprain and I was in a cast for about 11 weeks. It felt like such an injustice to me. It was my right foot, and I could not even drive. I longed to be out hiking, not laid up day after day, week after week.
The photo below is of me hiking in Hellcat Swamp at the Parker River National Wildlife Refuge, in April 2012, not long after I got my cast off. I was so grateful for my walking stick when I first started getting out on the trail. The walking stick in the photo is one of three that made myself. I striped the bark off of, sanded and finished each of them with tung oil. Each walking stick carries the memories of the day and place they came from.
We’re all walking into 2025 together, Dear Readers. Let’s make the best of it and embrace all of the movement and change together in this new year! Blessed be!

Receptive rather than resistant: great words.
wise thoughts and words. I am well versed in not resisting; yet my never ending challenge is decision making of my own free will. Because that will is never free and i know it well. Choosing to move and where to do that is a wide field of possibilities so often i sit unable to decide.. A wise person told me it is good to allow a funeral for the choices not taken before embracing the one picked.
