Poem of the Day: Means Honey: All Sweetness
A Re-post of a Collaboration with Writer Pilgrim by So Elite
Today, I am re-posting a collab from January 2024 that I did with Writer Pilgrim So Elite. Writer Pilgrim recently announced “Poem giveaway is back!” So I thought it would be nice to help kick this off with Writer Pilgrim’s poem to me from last year!
I highly recommend signing up for Poem Give Away!
Welcome to the first collaboration post here on Pamela Leavey: Words and Pictures.
Four days ago I responded to a Note by Writer Pilgrim So Elite, in which they made the offer write personalized poems to the first five people who responded.
I was one of those who responded.
Writer Pilgrim So Elite kindly responded with a lovely personalized poem bearing the title, “Means Honey: all sweetness,” which is actually the meaning of my name, Pamela.
Without further ado, here is the lovely poem and I am excited to share the first collaboration here:
Means Honey: all sweetness Nature loves you by the river Out to sea Through the forest You hear whispers Messages and vignettes When others fail to Hear birdsong. Rain’s drops offer healing from the pitter-patter on the leaves to the touch of the skin a melody upon hearing how it touches our collective soul. Failures never stop Like Words and Pictures Captured in the dark. That’s where you see a grey winning streak And you find a light, Spring is around the corner with a hue of grey That can spark A new life for tender ones, Who’ve only just about began to listen. Birdsong, before they learn to sing Why don’t they grieve the fallen and see the magic in what’s around them? To not steal clouds’ moments may be a lifelong task to achieve. Here work is never undone Here taking slow breaks when the rush quietens the mind is more urgent. Here, this one’s for you, as you teach us every cloud, every leaf, every bird and every drop is poignant.
I love this personalized poem that was written for me because it captures the essence of some much of what I write about and share here on my page, including my photography.
I’m so grateful for the lovely way that so many Creatives here on Substack work together within the community here.
If you are one of my regular readers, you will see that in the poem, if you aren’t one of my regular readers, I would like to invite you to Subscribe now and you will have access to all my posts here!
