"I am digging in, trying hard to keep up, because that’s all anyone of us can do." This statement says so much, Pamela. I know that your new residence needs work, but eventually it will be fine. It's difficult to be in the middle of change. All you can do is try your hardest and do your best. Your daughter sounds so wonderful!
Thank you Beth! It's been a long road getting me into a new place to live. Still another couple of weeks to get things moved and then the settling in happens. I so appreciate your support and friendship here!
I am confident that your new home will become that when you make it yours, with your art surrounding you. Being blessed with family is special. We realize how much so when they come through for us, as we do for them.
Imagine when your cosy new living space has a jar of fresh tulips on the table Pamela! And the smell of freshly brewed coffee or your favourite beverage steaming on your desk.
And I use the word cosy on purpose. Because you WILL be able to turn small into cosy. Somehow I have made a 7 long by 3.2 wide by 4.2 high tiny home cosy and liveable.
All the best with the cleaning and the fridge. Sounds like a bloody nightmare. Sending you strength to get through these difficult few weeks. Keep looking at the beautiful nature surrounding you that is always there, no matter what. 🌷❤️🌷
Hi Jo, The cleaning is done. The first rug is down on the floor. Things are moving along. The fridge has been replaced. There is nature out back. I am off to rest!
It's been a long bloody nightmare getting me to this place. Moving still planned for the 31st. I totally need extra strength! Thank you!
Yay Yay Yay! Progress! Thanks so much for the update! The fridge has been replaced, the rug is on the floor. You are making the place yours Pamela. Step by Step. Be gentle on yourself. These times are exhausting. But you'll also have moments of excitement as you get little bursts of seeing what you are creating. ❤️ Nature out back! 🌲 Horray!!!
Can't wait to see a photo of tulips on your desk/dining/kitchen table! xx
Glad you have postponed move in til the end of the month.
If the landlord isn’t replacing that frig, as they should, call HUD housing and turn them in. You have rights (As I know you have learned living in the current less than perfect place with the noisy upstairs neighbors.). I send warm hugs, prayers for your safe cosy home to grow so as to hold you as you live. 💞
Teyani, I have the number on my phone for complaints in Massachusetts. They did come through on Monday with new fridge. Now if I can get enough rugs to cover the cheesy vinyl floors that should have been replaced I will be a happy camper. This evening we got the rug down in the bedroom and contact paper in the kitchen.
Thanks so much for the warm hugs. I am sending some back to you too! 💞
Pamela, we’re going through a similar situation right now in our new south Jersey rental property.
The fridge has been a problem since we moved in- after 3 work orders the icemaker is working and the door has been replaced because the insulation was bad.
The gas oven and stovetop have been fixed twice now. They come and are incredibly polite & efficient- but there have been a total of 6 work orders now for our new place.
The upstairs carpets and carpeted stairway looked clean, but when we vacuumed we had a shocking amount of dust/dirt in the new vacuum canister.
I really hope the management in the new place gets it together and fixes your fridge.
Oh goodness Devereaux, I am sorry to hear you are having issues with your new rental. I pretty much forgot what renting in bigger complexes is like since I moved back to Massachusetts from Los Angeles 16 years ago.
We got a new vacuum for me and ended up bringing the old over to clean first. The kitchen and bathroom were the worst. I did end up with a new fridge. I hope you do too!
The tulips are beautiful. Glad you have a daughter helping you. I have one who is very helpful and wonderful. Moving under the best conditions is stressful, so hang in there. As you say, it will change. It will be better.
Thanks Danny! i am so glad that you also have a helpful daughter. Moving is always stressful and a lot of work. Especially when you do it yourself with the UHaul and people to help. It’s closeby, so many car trips this week now that things are clean and I have a new refrigerator!
Thanks Heidi. I have been scouting around over there while my daughter and I have been cleaning and getting things move-in ready. I saw my first Eastern Cottontail Rabbit out back and you know that made me happy. There's also some trails out back that I will check out during the summer. At least there's nature around the complex.
I feel your weariness dear Pamela, moving house is one of life's most stressful events, you're allowed to feel overwhelmed and worn out but please remember it will pass, the sadness of having to move from a home you loved, that too will pass. Maybe not in a day or even a month or a year but eventually you will make a new home where you are. It will be different but it will still your home. much love and strength lovely x💛x

Thank you Paul. I am losing some wall space with this move but holding on to all of my art with hopes to load the walls to the best of my ability!

Hurrah for a new frig!! I should have guessed (after your most recent landlord) that you’d have them in speed dial.. sigh.
I have a good feeling about your new perch… I imagine it full of sparkle, joy, tenderness and creative quiet space.
When you get your new address, I have something small I would enjoy sending you as a housewarming gift,, could you DM me with it?
May the new place grow on you in unexpected and beautiful ways Pamela❤️
Thank you Donna!
Moving is the worst and tulips are the best. 💕
Thank you Mary!

you will get through it
you always do
Thank you Marc! Somehow, someway things do tend to work out even when they seem like they may or not. Or... we move on.

Take good care during this transition, Pamela. The tulips are beautiful and a special metaphor as well. Thinking of you, my friend.:)
Thank you Heidi! Those tulips are something I need to plant at my new place. I have to find out where I can put some in come fall.
I will look forward to photos!

That will make a huge difference having access to nature, and the rabbit sighting is very auspicious!
I'm sorry to hear about the delay and mishaps Pamela!
I hope the move itself is as seamless as possible ❤️
Also, I could get something to this effect tattooed on my wrist:
"...if you don’t talk about it, it festers."
