Poem of the Day: Bird Highway
Happy Easter ~ Home is Where the Birds Are ~ With Curated Photography
Happy Easter Readers and Friends,
In my mind, home is where the birds are!
Today’s nature poem is a repost. I’ve spruced this version of the post up, and added more photos. I do hope you all enjoy it!
May you all be blessed!
Bird Highway, by Pamela Leavey
Bird highway
with lots of
fast food stops
all around
the house.
Cardinals
in pairs,
Sparrows
by the dozen.
Why lately
we’ve spotted
six Bluebirds
almost daily.
The Bluebirds
are special.
They are
of course—
The Bluebird
of Happiness.
Look, look
at me,
said the bird
in the tree.
What if
you were
like me
flying free.
Fill the suet,
stock the seed
we will all
be by to sing
our songs.
All different,
our colors.
All vibrant
our feathers
as delicate
as a breeze.
If you build
a bird
highway,
They will
make it
their regular
flyway.

Poem of the Day: Winged Bird
A little something from one of my poetry collections… Winged BirdWinged bird in flight, flying so freely through the night, upon the winds of love and hope, fearful perhaps of what might. Like all winged creatures you soar, high above earth's stable ground, touching briefly, if only to light, upon the soul of love's creation. …
Photography: A Few Birds Today
Following up on yesterday’s post, A Carolina Wren Comes to Roost, with a few bird photos today. In the Spring I plant sunflowers in my yard to feed the birds. There’s a nest of goldfinches nearby and they love to eat the sunflower seeds right off the flowers.
Happy Easter, beautiful images and words, thank you!
