On Tuesday I walked the beach with my friend who has a summer place on the beach in town. It was the first walk on the beach of the season, and a well deserved walk at that.
Let me digress for a moment… My friend has been transplanting a lot of the perennials from the gardens at my old apartment into her gardens so that they have a home. I did not want to leave them there at the old place to be mown down or simply unappreciated. I had hoped to move my perennials here, but I got mixed messages about that from those in charge, and with still unpacking and settling in, setting up a new garden is just more than I needed to do right now. Maybe next Spring I will get back to gardening.
I’m all for being in the moment right now. I’m not in a rush. I’m taking things day by day, moment by moment, with plenty of room to digress…
The tide had just turned and was going out when we got down by the water’s edge. We walked a little and I stood and watched the waves folding back into each other. It was bliss. I stood quietly listening and watching and captured twenty-one seconds of beach bliss on this short video below to share with you all.
Next time I will endeavor to capture more, but Tuesday, being my first walk in probably about six weeks, Tuesday was for walking. And for a few photographs…
As usual the winter erosion has wreaked havoc on the beach once again, leaving far less beach than the last time I walked the beach in early December.
The water is too cold for me in early June, but as you can see by the photograph below, there were some hearty souls in the water on Tuesday. I contemplated pulling off my shoes and socks and walking in the water, but decided against cold, wet, sandy feet.
We also passed by a group of teenagers on the beach, they were enjoying the good weather too. They had a volleyball net set up and had just finished a game as we walked by.
It was really good to be out walking again, especially on the beach. It was also good to get out of the house, and away from the unpacked boxes of stuff that I don’t have room for. Little by little, unpacking. Being in the moment, unpacking. Living life, in the moment. Taking it slow. No rush.
Stay tuned for new posts… I try to keep things rather eclectic around here, because that’s the kind of person I am.

Photo Essay: A Brisk Early December Walk on the Beach
I took a brisk walk on the beach yesterday with my girlfriend who has a summer house on the beach in my town. It’s been just a month since we walked the beach together as she’s now living back in the…
Pamela, YAY! It sounds like the tide has turned indeed. So happy to hear you were able to get out on the beach for a walk.
"So many boxes, no room!" is currently my mantra which I am working on to change to be a more nourishing one like: "Living life, in the moment. Taking it slow. No rush." 😊
Wonderful to hear that you are able to replant some of your flowers at a friend's. I am sensing a new "gardening, living life in the moment", group will be formed in due course by your wonderful self. F..K the "powers to be". You will be able to show how beneficial to mind body spirit community and Mother Earth planting and enjoying a garden is. 🥰💖🌻
No better place than the beach to nurture your being 💙🙏🏼🌊
