I really respect memoir writers who tell a good story while sticking to facts, comfortable or otherwise.

But I'm going to opt for letting whispered legends and furtive observations by others tell my story.

Hope it's a best seller.

Thank you Monica. I am glad you enjoyed. I got a lot more from the Barrington book, that the Mary Karr book. Both equally informative.

Neil, I really enjoy memoir and creative nonfiction. Both strike me a something you would be good at given your passion for nature.

Thank you, great post Pamela. I really like the focus on the craft of writing, especially writing memoir. I’ve made a note of your teacher’s book as it is new to me. When I first started learning about autobiography, the professor started the first class by writing Autos, Bios, Graphine on the big board. We started the course by considering where the writer put the emphasis on one of those three parts, self, history, form. It’s a kind of holy jumping off place for taking a deep dive into this amazing craft and genre of memoir. If you decide to serialize your own memoir writing, I will look forward to it.

Thank you Heidi. I am planning on serializing one completed manuscript here. I started adding to it. And then questioned do that, and have now decided to serialize it as is without the additions. I am not sure why the poll didn't work.

If I can ever get my act together, I might even do a workshop on memoir writing! It's been a goal since I started writing here.
