You've got a talent for photography, whether abstract or pictures of nature and landscape. Gorgeous photos dear friend.

Thank you Pilgrim. Abstract photography is something I plan to spend more time with in 2025, along with painting.

I'm not typically someone who likes abstract photography; I'm more a fan of the Edward Weston F/64 school. But I liked these a lot. You could see hanging them on a wall in someone's house like with paintings or realistic photos. It's interesting to see you're from Mass. I have a good friend, Mark Chester, who is a photographer and lives in Cape Cod. Really nice guy. Does photo books and writes a photo column for Cape Cod newspapers. I'll mention you to him. He's not on Substack. Anyway, he wrote a piece about taking care of his Mom in her last days that's very lovely and it's in today's Tilting West, the post I write. It has a couple of photos too. Thanks for listening!

Hi Kevin, Abstract photography is slowly growing on me. It's taken a whole for me to get comfortable with the photos I have taken and to reach through the medium and keep trying. I really appreciate that you could see these photographs hanging in someone's house.

I'll check out your post from Mark Chester. I'm up on the Northshore of Mass where I have lived most of life, save for a 19 year stint in L.A. In these winter months I always long for the SoCal sun.

Abstract photographs are the most brutal to me, and from these, I particularly love the second-to-last one and another one just before it.

Thank you Davor! I am glad you enjoyed them!

I especially like that 3rd photo, Pamela. I like how the tail lights of the vehicles are jagged and random.

Thank you Neil! The process of abstract photography is interesting. The camera becomes the brush on the larger canvas.

i really admire the boat motoring upriver .. the splashes of colour .. a la Ernst Haas

Though ‘anchored in Stills & Motion Picture myself .. the ‘dynamic & serendipitous spaces between will always ‘surprise .. & ain’t that what ‘shootin is all about ! When ‘the shot finds you ! 🦎🏴‍☠️🔥

Thank you Thomas! Shooting is all about the “dynamic & serendipitous spaces between” I do agree!

These photos are beautiful, Pamela. I love the movement and vibrancy and color.

Beautiful, Pamela. I've never seen these abstracts before, and they are so wonderful. Nice job!

Wow Pamela! I love these abstract photos a lot! I often try a little intentional movement with my camera but always without huge success, these are truly marvellous and so festive! 💫

Susie, I’ve had many failure with the intentional movement thing. It really is trial and error and I err a lot. I also mess with the shutter speed and then forget I did that and have to figure out where it works best again. I shoot quiet un-intentionally at times, rather than checking my settings and making sure it fits the moment!
